portamento ... dawn gliding into afternoon oblivion

This performance attempts to rechoreograph my mother’s final day, replacing unknowable turns of events with a story of presence, love, and solitude. By reconfiguring heat and voice, a series of gestural landscapes lovingly places me in the company of my mother as we drift into the afternoon. Music for this performance includes: Meredith Monk’s “Prologue,” “Cow Song,” Waltz,” “Nota,” Quarry Weave,” and “Epilogue,” as well as Fiona Kelleher’s “Peidhleacan Gleoite.”
